A Bit About Us
Brunel Islamic Society (iSOC) are a group of volunteer staff and students who work to cater for needs of Muslims at Brunel University; as well as raise awareness about Islam, engage in dialogue and build bridges with the non-Muslim community on campus.
We believe that there is at least one common thing which all mankind shares regardless of their race, colour, language, nationality or culture. That is we have one common origin, one universal purpose and one Creator who mankind has been created to worship and obey in order to attain success in this life and the Hereafter.
We believe that the faith and the belief is a personal affair between the man and his Creator and no one else has the right to search one’s heart to discover his belief or to ill-treat him because of it. We also believe that all human beings are equal regardless of gender, disability, social class and status etc.; and we are judged and differentiated only by our level of God-consciousness and righteousness.
In all our affairs we refer to the last divine revelation sent to mankind - the Qur'an and the authentic traditions (Sunnah) of the final Messenger sent to mankind, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and their interpretations according to the four famous Imams and the early generations, which are well known to all Muslims.
